edible rainbow

For a Christmas party, I decided to make christmas-themed cupcakes. It was my first time to ever try using a can of sprite with a box of cake mix. I liked it, it was very moist!

I then divided the batter into three bowls, and dyed two of them red and green. Using measuring cups, I layered the batter.

I also tried to make snowmen using cream cheese frosting... Not the easiest thing ever, but it tasted good! That is all the matters, right?

vines, roses and cake

My sisters and I took a cake decorating class. It was a lot of work (I can't imagine the amount of shortening and sugar we must have used), but it was fun.

Here are my sisters' cakes. Mine looks a bit empty now, don't you think?

hey der!

I slept in until 8:40 today. It was the first time I've slept in in 3 months, I believe. It was wonderful. :)

Here are some scenes captured from the last week. Friends, sisters, Christmas parties, unusually large instruments. It has been a wonderful week! Finals are next week, and I feel quite ready. :)

I was in the mood for some soup. I started making a simple potato noodle soup, when my brother decided to help. My 'quick' soup turned into an hour-long project, involving 7 different vegetables, including cauliflower. Cauliflower in soup? It was a first for me.

I got a package in the mail yesterday. It is always a surprise, I love getting mail!

Finals are coming up. I am trying to prepare myself, it seems difficult to try and study for 5 different tests. I am determined not to let myself get stressed. I love school, but I am excited and thankful for the break I will have, and the chance to spend time with some family I haven't seen in awhile.

He went to look for that sheep because he could not rest until his flock was complete. All His heart was with that missing lamb. The heart of the Lord: the heart that holds every individual as infinitely precious, the heart that can never rest till His family is complete.
